2009 Premier and Historic Rally Spectating Information

Event Information and Stage Times

Spectators are welcome to come and see the cars at the Start and the Finish of the rally at Mansfield Civic Centre and at a special stage in Sherwood Pines Forest Park. Please only visit these venues and park as requested. There is NO public access to any of the other stage venues at the request of the landowners and police and to minimise PR issues.

The rally cars are grouped into two sections. The first group (numbered from 201) are the increasingly popular pre 1981 historic rally cars of the type that competed in stage rallies nearly 30 years ago. The second group (numbered from 1) are more modern stage rally cars headed by the powerful 4 wheel drive World Rally Cars. Cars start at 1 minute intervals but there will be a gap between the historics and the main field. The times shown below are the due time for the 1st historic rally car (Car 201).

Start - Mansfield Civic Centre
The first historic car will leave the start line at 12.01pm with the others following at one minute intervals. The first modern rally car will leave approx 20 minutes after the last historic car. Spectators (on foot) are welcome but please do not attempt to park in the Civic Centre Car Park (competitors only), or on the approach road which is the Fire Brigade and Church access. Mansfield Civic Centre is located near the junction of the A617 and the A6009 opposite the Tesco Superstore.

Toilets and refreshments are available.

Special Stage - Sherwood Pines
Cars will start the Sherwood Pines special stage from 1.20pm and continue until approximately 3.00pm. Parking is at the Sherwood Pines Visitor Centre (Map Ref: 120 / 613639) which gives easy access to the designated spectator viewing point. Follow the signs off the B6030 into the forest and then follow the signs to the Visitors Car Park which has been enlarged with additional parking areas on the right hand side. A one way system is in operation. £3 per day Pay & Display. To avoid queues please park up and then get a ticket from the machines.

Important Note: Sherwood Pines Visitor Centre and car park closes at dusk, so please ensure you have exited the Forest before the gate closes!

Service Area - Mansfield Civic Centre
Spectators (on foot) are welcome but please do not attempt to park in the Civic Centre Car Park or on the approach road which is a Fire Brigade and Church access. Cars will start to arrive at the Service Area from 2.30pm onwards with the last car leaving at around 4.30pm.

Finish and Awards Presentation - Mansfield Civic Centre
The cars are due to return from 5.50pm onwards for the results and awards presentations.
